These Nature photos are taken in and around my established, cool temperate climate garden, in Canberra Australia.

Read Wattle Bird
I was on the ground trying to take pics of the lavender and this bird didn't see me when it first came down :)

Pretty Weeds
I love the poppies, they are gorgeous and plentiful, however not many of them are actually in the garden beds! This scene makes me smile How can I consider something so stately and delicate as a weed :)
If only the grass would stay out of the garden beds and the flowers would stay in :)

More Irises
.... and I'm not sure this is the end of it with more unusual coloured buds sighted :)
I may have posted this one already. |
Much lighter than the one shown in the first pic, not accurately shown here |

Water Lillies
All of these photos taken on different days, at different times from different angles too.
The flowers close up at night.
See the rock on the Lily pad? An experiment by my son who was at first astounded and is now blasé about it as it has been there for well over a week through rain and shine.

Grevillias

We have Roses.
The colourful parade of Roses has begun!
So very many seemingly all starting at once, I can't keep track. I adore opening the kitchen window in the early evening and smelling the perfume of the roses hanging in the air, on these warmer days.

the prettiest weed
Poppies popping up everywhere not at all restrained to the garden beds. I am trying to break off the flower heads as soon as they finish.

This photo is not upside down. The Silver eyes, however, are.
Doing what they have to to get a taste of the sweet Maple Flower nectar.
The flowers have pretty much finished now these photos were taken last week and the week prior.
As you walked towards and under this tree it would be humming with the buzz of all the bee's overhead, the flowers are so tiny they would probably not otherwise be obvious. They do make a pretty contrast to the fresh green though :)

Irises
The colours being revealed, or about to be revealed, in some of these are just stunning!
These last three images are all the same flower but the detail and colour combination in it is breathtaking!
