Can you tell me what this is?
It had these brown velvety buds on it all through winter
then the brown petals started to drop last week
these are the blooms that have emerged overhead.

Clematis
Edit ** March 2015 I have just found out that this is Akebia quinata aka Chocolate vine, not Clematis at all.
My horizons of what I thought Clematis was and its potential growth habit have been wildly broadened. Some of the 'unknown' plants from earlier in the year I am now quite confident are clematis. I'll go back through my archives and tag them accordingly.
This one is stunning and the flowers almost look artificial. It was a hidden gem with most of it growing over to the neighbours side of the fence and obscured from our view.

Strawberry
My first Strawberries for this season should ripen this week, they are in the potting shed/greenhouse. Where they were nestled all winter.
