Yellow fleshed Plums

These beauties are on a grafted tree bearing two types of yellow fleshed plums. It is loaded this year and the birds are sampling just waiting. They have moved from the Apricot tree to a red skinned plum that is already ripe. 


They will have a fight on their hands as these jems made the most delicious jam last summer and there is only one jar left!

The birds Break it, the Butterflies benefit ...

Please don't be too appalled by the fruit wastage in these pics.
We humans had more plums than we could handle so this year I decided to let the crop from this one slide and the wildlife benefit.

Silver eyes. Tiny Birds not more than 10cm long.

you can see his proboscis dipping in the open fruit.

Looks like one of these had a close call!
