Rose hips

This is one of the more unusual and beautiful Hips in the garden, it appears on one of the 'old fashioned' roses. That is how I refer to them. Someone told me they were English roses but I also seem to think they might be what My Mum called wild roses.

I didn't notice the shiny little iridescent bug until after I uploaded the photos.

Here is one open.

So Pretty

I feel I really should know what this is but just can't recollect, we have three colours a white one and a pale-ish pink one this dark pink is the biggest and has flowered slightly later than the other two.

Grevillias

Some are pretty and showy and shout 'look at me'

Others are barely noticeable until you get right up close or are actively looking.

A spot of Yellow :)

No idea what this wiry little shrub is it has tiny leaves and tiny flowers and crooked wiry branches.

Camellia

Oh the camellias are starting their show and the colour of most have been revealed now, at least through the buds.

This one is stunning and different.

Not exactly what I was looking for

But still an item of interest.
A striped feather suspended in the shrub.

The Second Camellia to Bloom

I was Fooled, I was expecting Dark pink after seeing these buds.
But no! The most delicate, not to mention petite, white flower is encased inside.

Camellias!

I thought I was keeping a close eye on the camellias waiting for the buds to unfurl and reveal colours.
Then on Monday when I was sweeping in the ( as yet unnamed by us room ) I saw this behind my rack of drying Lavender.
Hmmm.

I didn't get out for a closer look until yesterday afternoon and many blooms in various stages, on this one plant greeted me.
I still wait for multiple others. Most of them reach the eaves :)

After the rain

the fish swim closer to the surface
The emerging bulbs seem to stand taller and straighter

and rain drops cling like accumulated glistening jewels.

Bejewelled Ballerinas

This Fuchsia, stands taller than me , weaving its way up and through a big camellia outside my kitchen window.
