These are on one of the Oak tree's ( I think its an Oak ) most of the Oaks here have rounded leaves but the leaves of this one have points.
These Nature photos are taken in and around my established, cool temperate climate garden, in Canberra Australia.

Rose hips
This is one of the more unusual and beautiful Hips in the garden, it appears on one of the 'old fashioned' roses. That is how I refer to them. Someone told me they were English roses but I also seem to think they might be what My Mum called wild roses.
I didn't notice the shiny little iridescent bug until after I uploaded the photos.
Here is one open.

Rose Hips
My last day of Autumn Post some rose hips I photographed two weeks ago. There is such an amazing array of shapes, sizes and colours of rose hips here. These are two of the more interesting ones ( to me )

Texture
I realised that I had not shared with you guys that I am still sharing photos taken with the DSLR and I have created a 400D tag for the photos taken with that Camera for anyone who is interested in the camera type used. I still will have quite a few posts coming with photos I took with that Camera which I was lucky to have had use of for an additional week.

Autumn !
Of all the seasons I can not deny that Autumn has my heart unlike any other.
Here are the ways I see Autumn with its promise of riotous colour, Crisp mornings and other untold delights creeping into my garden.
The seeds up near the top of the maple tuning pink! Till now fresh bright green. |
Hundreds of Camellia buds! |
The rose hips turning glorious rich colours. |
Mandarin's swelling |
The First leaves on this crab Apple starting to change. |
The seed pods on this camellia beginning to look like a poison apple from Sleeping Beauty! So very deep and shiny red. |
Cyclamen! |
I had not noticed the blue on this previously somewhat sad and unspectacular looking tree. |
What I assume ( and hope ) to be the beginning of Magnolia Flowers! |
and of course the fire wood. |

For the Squirrels
The children were so happy to find the first Acorns on the ground, knowing that they are what Squirrels eat. They exclaimed so loudly, glad the squirrels would have plenty of food, obviously they were not as happy when I explained we do not have Squirrels in Australia. They still have lots of fun finding the Acorns with their little hats.
As a side note, it would appear, the Cockatoo's enjoy Acorns as food too.
